THE BROADWAY EDUCATION ALLIANCE INC. ESTABLISHES FUND
TO ENABLE CHILDREN OF MILITARY FAMILIES TO PERFORM WITH
CAMP BROADWAY IN THE MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

This Is A Great Country Fund provided financial assistance to 50 military families from across America whose children had been cast to perform with The Camp Broadway Kids Ensemble in the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 23, 2017. Through a national talent search, Camp Broadway cast 125 boys and girls, ages 9-16, of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds to represent their parents who had served in all branches of the armed services. With permission, The Camp Broadway Kids Ensemble performed an original musical presentation of Irving Berlin’s American anthem, “This Is A Great Country”. This marked Camp Broadway’s 10th appearance in this event.
“The Broadway Education Alliance is committed to highlighting the importance of the performing arts in the education and development of children, and to provide opportunities for children to participate in more meaningful theater arts experiences” says Executive Director Brian W. Curran. “We are very aware of the sacrifices of extended families in supporting those who protect and serve our nation, and are delighted for the opportunity to enable many of these children of military families to march in the Macy’s Parade, and for them to share the joy of performance on Thanksgiving Day”.
